India is a significant feldspar exporter, with annual exports exceeding 500,000 tonnes. The primary export destinations are South Korea (for its large ceramics and electronics industries), Taiwan, Italy (for premium ceramic tile and sanitary ware), Turkey, and various Southeast Asian markets.
Rajasthan is the dominant feldspar-producing state, with major deposits in Ajmer, Bhilwara, Jhunjhunu, and Pali districts. The material is processed in Rajasthan and typically transported by road or rail to Mundra or Kandla ports for export, or to domestic ceramics clusters in Morbi, Thangadh, and Morbi.
Indian feldspar typically competes on price against Turkish, Norwegian, and Chinese material. The quality of Indian feldspar has improved significantly in the past decade as processing companies have invested in better crushing, grinding, and classification equipment. However, consistency remains a challenge at the smaller producer level — this is the primary quality concern for export buyers.
